What we do

Weekly rehearsals

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings in term time at St Cedd's School Hall, New London Road, Chelmsford from 8.00-10.00 pm.

Come along and give us a try with no obligation

If you are interested in joining the choir, come along to a few rehearsals and see if you enjoy it.  We normally have vacancies in all voice parts.

Subscriptions

Our performing year runs from September to June, and the subscription for the 2023/2024 season is £170, (payable in September or, alternatively payable in two instalments of £85 payable in September and January).

We especially welcome students   

If you are under 25 and in full-time education we have a reduced subscription rate of just £10 per year.

Concerts

We normally give three or four concerts each season in November, March and June. Performance venues regularly include Chelmsford Cathedral and Great Waltham Parish Church, as well as others both locally and further afield.

Tours

Waltham Singers has travelled to France, Germany and Belgium in recent Years and most recently Venice.

Workshops and coaching sessions

Members benefit from workshop days to explore new music or singing technique and smaller scale coaching sessions.

Social and fund-raising events.

Events regularly include Quiz Nights, informal recitals given by choir members, a family BBQ and concert trips to Aldeburgh or the London concert halls.

A choir to sing at your wedding

The Waltham Singers can provide a group of experienced singers to sing anthems and lead the congregational hymns at your wedding. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
