Do I have to be a good sight reader to join?
No – it helps, and a number of the choir members are good sight readers; and you will find your reading improving after a while

Can I only join at the beginning of the season in September?
No – you can join at any time, but you may feel that you cannot sing in a concert if you have joined part way through the rehearsal schedule. If you join part way through the season your subscription for the remainder of the season will be adjusted accordingly.

Is there a special choir uniform?
For concerts the women wear black ankle length skirt, black long-sleeved tee shirt with round neck and a red scarf that can be purchased from the choir. The men wear a black shirt and black trousers.

How can I tell if I will enjoy singing with the Waltham Singers?
Come and give us a try for two or three rehearsals – you won’t be hassled for subs until you are sure.

I’m not sure if I’m good enough, can I still come?
Of course, many of the singers joined with no formal training in music or singing. If you are prepared to put a bit of effort into learning the score and blending with your part, then you will find singing with the Waltham Singers is a very satisfying experience.

Will I be stretched?
You bet! Andrew’s rehearsals are fast, furious and fun.
